Biography:
Coach Tyson Azevedo is in his seventeenth (17) year of high school coaching and this is his seventh (7) year of teaching and coaching at West Ashley High School. He previously spent 10 years between coaching and teaching at Newberry High School (2) and Wando High School (8) where he taught both Health and PE, while coaching baseball and football. Coach Azevedo is originally from North Charleston, SC. He graduated from Stall High School in 2000 and earned a baseball scholarship to attend Newberry College where he served as a pitcher on the baseball team for four years. He graduated from college in 2004, and later moved back to Charleston in 2006. Coach Azevedo teaches in the Physical Education/Health department at West Ashley High, and is in his seventh (7) year as the Head Varsity baseball coach. He and his wife Melissa, have a daughter Brynlee(8), and currently reside in West Ashley.
